Why I am Running for Redlands City Council

Here is the ballot statement that Nancy has included in this year's Sample Ballot. It sums up why Nancy is running for office.

Vote no on sales tax increase. The Council promises street repairs, the fine print reads "... solely to raise revenue for any and all ... purposes," while taking $40 million from our pockets over 10 years and hurting every retailer in town.

NANCY wants to keep Redlands' unique character. After a decade of overspending, she'll balance the budget so citizens can again trust the Council.

NANCY has lived and taught in Redlands for over 30 years, devoting much of her career to special needs children. She is a University of Redlands graduate with two masters' degrees.

NANCY is for:
  • Public Safety Departments - Must solve the pension, overtime, and compensation issues.
  • Development - Look at the whole project, not fees alone.
  • Quality of Life Issues - Ensuring responsible care of the environment and infrastructure.
  • New Businesses - City enhancing, not just sales tax revenue.

Nancy's awards include the League of Women Voters' Citizen of Achievement. She is a member of several boards, including Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice; Chair, Community Action Partnership, and was appointed as a First 5 San Bernardino Commissioner by Supervisor Neil Derry.

Vote financial responsibility. Vote NANCY.
